Oracle to Amazon RDS, automated : the migration everyone agreed should happen but no one had cycles for.

The canonical “everyone agreed it should happen, no one had cycles” engagement, landed because agent-native delivery created the cycles the engineering team did not have.

App & DatabaseManufacturing

Baseline

Oracle-bound design analytics. License renewal cycle approaching.

Outcome

Amazon RDS-native. Automated migration on a fixed date. Oracle license reallocated.

The Challenge

The migration everyone agreed should happen : but no one had cycles for.

Synaptics' Oracle database was one of those systems everyone agreed should be modernized. The license renewal was a recurring pain. The engineering team knew the migration was right. The migration never happened : because the engineering team was always needed elsewhere.

A traditional SI engagement would have required the customer's engineering team to co-staff the migration work. The team did not have the cycles. The migration stayed on the roadmap, unfunded.

How We Delivered

Aedeon automated the migration analysis. The cycles the engineering team did not have were not needed.

Aedeon ran the schema analysis, the dependency mapping, the code conversion, and the validation harness : work that under traditional delivery would have required the customer's engineering team to co-staff. The engineering team participated where their judgment was needed and stayed focused on product where it was not.

Aedeon's Lane

  • Schema analysis across Oracle systems
  • Dependency mapping
  • Code conversion automation
  • Validation harness generation

Forward-Deployed Engineers' Lane

  • Architecture decisions for RDS target
  • Risk-weighted cutover sequencing
  • Production cutover ownership
  • Team handover

Why This Matters

The license renewal that was inevitable became the budget that funded the next initiative.

The migrations that stay on the roadmap unfunded are usually there because traditional delivery requires the customer's engineering team to co-staff. Agent-native delivery removes that requirement. The migration work runs against Aedeon; the engineering team participates where judgment is needed and stays on product where it is not. The license renewal that was inevitable becomes the budget that funds the next initiative.

The Oracle migration your team never had cycles for : delivered without pulling them off product.
