About Customer

A fast-growing mid-market lending platform that had scaled 3x in 2 financial years, and their infrastructure hadn't kept up. What started as a licensing concern had quietly grown into a crisis the DBA team was living with every day.
 

The Challenge

The company was running 3 MS SQL Server instances totaling ~2.4 TB of data, powering a marketplace application. SQL Server Enterprise licensing was consuming $380K annually, scaling was hitting infrastructure limits, and the DBA team was spending the majority of their time on operational maintenance rather than strategic work. The CIO and CFO wanted to reduce database costs, improve scalability, and free up engineering capacity without risking the stability of a revenue-critical application.

 

The Solution
